ICT
The ICT vision for the school is ensuring students experience ICT through an integrated approach that promotes engagement, motivation and ‘real world’ application of technology.
Over the last 5 years, the school has endeavoured to ensure a reliable infrastructure exists in the school to accommodate the introduction of mobile technologies. Every student has access to either a desk top or laptop computer and iPads. This technology is not only used in classroom programs but also to provide for enrichment and as a support resource for the consolidation of numeracy and literacy.
ICT is one of the General Capabilities of the Western Australian Curriculum. There are four organising elements to this area of the curriculum – Investigate with ICT, Operate with ICT, Create with ICT, Communicate with ICT and Social and Ethical Protocols and Practices.
HalidonPrimary School maintains rigorous and effective CyberSafety Practices which aim to maximise the benefits of the Internet and ICT devices/equipment to student learning, while minimising and managing any risks.
